Refund policy


Alice Umbrella (Pty) Ltd


1. Introduction

This Refund & Returns Policy applies to all purchases made through the Alice Umbrella (Pty) Ltd website within the Republic of South Africa.

We aim to ensure customer satisfaction while complying with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“CPA”).

2. No Returns for Change of Mind

Alice Umbrella (Pty) Ltd does not accept returns for:

Change of mind

Incorrect selection by the customer

Preference changes after delivery

Customers are encouraged to review product descriptions carefully before purchasing.


3. Defective Products 

In accordance with Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act:

All products carry a 6-month implied warranty against manufacturing defects.

A product will be considered defective if it:

Has a material manufacturing fault;

Is unsafe;

Does not function as intended under normal use.


4. What Is Not Considered a Defect

The following are not regarded as defects:

Damage caused by misuse or negligence;

Damage caused by extreme weather conditions;

Normal wear and tear;

Damage caused by improper storage;

Minor colour variations;

Damage resulting from accidents.

Umbrellas are designed for standard weather protection and may not withstand extreme wind conditions.


5. Return Conditions for Defective Products

To qualify for a return:

The product must be unused;

It must be in its original packaging;

All accessories must be included;

You must notify us within a reasonable time after discovering the defect.


6. Return Procedure

If you believe your product is defective:

Include your order number and photos of the defect.

Our team will assess your request.

If approved, we will arrange courier collection at our cost.

Please do not return products without prior approval.


7. Refunds

Once the returned product has been received and inspected:

We may repair, replace, or refund the item in accordance with the CPA.

Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of receiving the returned product.

Refunds will be made using the original payment method.


8. Custom-Branded & Corporate Orders

All custom-branded, printed, or bulk corporate orders:

Are made to customer specification;

Cannot be returned due to change of mind;

Cannot be refunded once production has commenced;

May only be returned if defective.

Customers are responsible for approving artwork before production.

We are not responsible for errors in artwork approved by the customer.


9. Incorrect or Damaged Deliveries

If you receive:

The wrong item; or

A product damaged during transit,

Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

We will arrange collection and replacement where applicable.


10. Refund Processing Times

Refunds may take:

Up to 10 business days to be processed by us;

Additional time depending on your bank or payment provider.
